Bloom

m - movement for global justice

The members of Bloom are: Africa Centre, Comhlamh, Debt and Development Coalition Ireland and Latin American Solidarity Centre.

Bloom aims to strengthen the engagement of our members in public activism for global justice both in Ireland and internationally. While we members all work on seemingly different issues, We believe their work is distinctly complementary in nature, rooted as it is in the belief in equality, justice, and global interconnectedness, and the need to challenge global inequality. We believe that in joining and working together we will find strength in our diversity, and in our common philosophy.

We aim to strengthen our campaigning through working together to improve the skills of our members by sharing training and information, and by involving them in joint activist events and campaigning actions. In the future we aim at linking in strategic terms the work we do as member organisations and that of the alliance.

The Values of the Alliance:

  • We seek justice in North-South relationships and want to see a radical re-shaping of these unequal relationships.
  • We focus on ending Northern exploitation of the South and are informed by engaging in dynamic relationships in solidarity with groups and movements in the South, as well as in the North.
  • We apply a critical and long term perspective in our analysis and we are committed to building a vision for an alternative world.
  • We are committed to building public activism on global justice in Ireland.
  • We are committed to laying the foundations of a social movement on global justice in Ireland in the long term.
  • We are creative in our approach and in our actions.
